Where I'll Be...

Constanza is an inland city located in the Central Mountain Range which is the tallest mountain range in the Caribbean.  It is almost in the exact center of the country geographically.  Although still very warm, the climate in Constanza is more of a mountain climate than the rest of the island.  The cool temperatures can often provide a more comfortable environment than most caribbean cities.

Constanza is a driven by agriculture.  It is a farming community and it is best known for various fruits (strawberries, apples, and peaches) and a wide variety of flowers. Thanks Wikipedia!

It is located about an hour and a half from the airport in Santiago, and also about an hour and half through small, winding, mountain roads from Jarabacoa.  The main highway from the capital Santo Domingo has recently been re-done and it is now much more convenient to travel to and from the capital and the southern part of the country.  This was finished at the end of May and will be very good for economy and travel in relation to Constanza.

Here is some more information about the town and the ministry at Constanza.

Honestly, I don't know a lot about Constanza.  I have been there for about 8 hours, last summer to go check it out and all I really remember is a little about the town and then hanging out with the kids while I was there.  I'm excited to really learn about and become part of this culture.
